New Web Site Puts Retirement Resources At Your Fingertips
Two baby boomers struggle to find health service for their parents and in the process create a new web site that makes it easier for others.
/Oregon News Articles/ - BEND, OR, August 19, 2008 - Retire Northwest, LLC has launched RetireNW.com, an online resource guide for baby boomers and seniors. This new Web site lists hundreds of retirement goods and services in Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
RetireNW.com saves people hours of research by serving as a central information point for metropolitan areas and smaller communities.
ÒWeÕve tried to include everything to help retirees find what they need,Ó says co-founder Darius Whitten.
Listings include resorts, retirement communities, home and health services, summer and winter sports and much more.
If youÕre interested in golf, for instance, you can find courses and their locations. (Each Retire Northwest listing comes with a map.) If you have health concerns, youÕll find hospitals and care providers.
Whitten designed the Web site to be user friendly. You just click on ÒSearch,Ó then on the city and state. Pick your categories, such as ÒRecreationÓ and ÒSummer Sports.Ó YouÕll get a list of activities including fishing, hiking, rafting and more.
The idea for Retire Northwest grew out of the personal experience of two journalists in Bend, Oregon.
Darius Whitten and Barbara Dunlap both struggled to find health services for their parents in the Pacific Northwest, and they began to investigate resources for seniors. As they shared their findings with interested friends and community members, the response was tremendous.
Now theyÕve gathered all this retirement information in one easy-to-find place: RetireNW.com. For more information, visit www.retirenw.com.
