The Movement Center's Leadership Training Addresses Needs of Leaders in Stressful Times-- New Workshop Offered June 23 - 25, 2009
The Enlightened Leader Workshop, combining yoga and leadership principles, offers leaders an opportunity to develop awareness skills and practices to help them cope with today's challenges.
PORTLAND, OR, May 09, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Crisis exists on all levels of our society, and the need for leaders who are grounded and mindful has never been greater. The Enlightened Leader Workshop was developed to help leaders to function in the face of uncertainty. The workshop is presented by The Movement Center, a Northeast Portland yogic learning center.
A collaboration between the founders of the world-renowned Personal Leadership methodology and the senior faculty at The Movement Center, the three day program trains people to engage their whole being - mind, body, and emotions - so that they can learn how to master themselves and then effectively lead others. The program combines the tools and interactive exercises of Personal Leadership with yogic practices, such as meditation, that develop the awareness, attitudes, and skills for effective leadership in stressful environments.
"In these challenging times," says Tom Fabrizio, Director of Development for the organization, "effective and uplifting leadership is needed more than ever. We're pleased to offer this carefully crafted program in Portland, a city famous for supporting grass-roots leaders in a number of arenas."
The faculty includes an internationally known meditation teacher, Swami Chetanananda, founder of The Movement Center; two of the developers of the Personal Leadership methodology, Gordon Watanabe, Ed.D, and Barbara Schaetti, Ph.D; and Sharon Ward, J.D., an experienced meditation and hatha yoga teacher and a leading trainer in search and rescue methods using sensory input and awareness skills. The program was designed by Tom Fabrizio, M.Ed., J.D., founder and President of Lean Manufacturing Tools, who has taught leadership development, strategic planning, and value stream management for over 25 years.
Because of the current difficult economic climate, the sponsors are offering the workshop at lower than normal fees. Group rates are available, and an early bird discount applies until June 1.
