Reliant Behavioral Health Acquires Providence Employee Assistance Services
Reliant Behavioral Health (RBH) announced that effective November 1, 2009 it acquired Providence Employee Assistance Services from Providence Health & Services - Washington.


PORTLAND, OR, January 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reliant Behavioral Health (RBH) announced that effective November 1, 2009 it acquired Providence Employee Assistance Services from Providence Health & Services - Washington, reinforcing RBH's commitment to expand market share in Washington and the Pacific Northwest. "We are honored that Providence has selected RBH to carry on its legacy of quality and prompt service.", said Tom Foster, president of Reliant Behavioral Health. "Our shared values, core business philosophies, and service elements have made this acquisition an excellent fit for all. Headquartered in Olympia, Washington, Providence Employee Assistance Services is a leading provider of Employee Assistance Programs to many Washington employers. The Washington EAP was one of two EAPs operated by Providence. Providence EAS was established in 1996 at the Centralia Hospital in Lewis County. In 1999, the EAP headquarters moved to Providence St. Peter Hospital. "Providence and RBH worked together for several months to assess each program to ensure that our clients will receive the same or higher level of EAP services as provided currently, delivered by an organization that we know has similar values and service standards.", said Susan Meenk, Vice President Human Resources, Providence St. Peter Hospital. " We also worked closely in formulating a comprehensive transition plan to ensure that companies and their employees experienced a smooth transition to RBH."

Joining the RBH clinical team in the transition is Glendon "Skip" Wheeler. Skip was the Manager/Director of the Employee Assistance Services for Providence Health System for Southwest Washington located in Olympia, WA. Skip has 30+ yrs of experience in substance abuse/dependence assessment and treatment and mental health counseling."I'm very excited about the addition of both talent and customers to our RBH family," said Brian Enos, Senior Vice President of EAP at RBH.
